For those of you that actually stop by the website every now and then, you’ll notice it has a new look! Nial has spent the last few days making this new design work that he created.

It brings a welcome change to the website as the old style was getting a little stale and needed some love. I’m pleased to say Nial has done a great job as usual. There’s bound to be a few teething problems somewhere, but if you just bear with us, everything should be ironed out in the next couple of days.

I’m on to my thirteenth upgrade code from O2 and still no closer to knowing if I have an iPhone3G. A little frustrating to say the least.

The system for sending out upgrade codes seems to work, even if it is a little temperamental. It’s a shame their IT bods didn’t think of the demand required to process everyone’s upgrade. Their upgrade website is up and down more times than a yo-yo at the moment!

Update
I managed to get mine. Adrian blames me for not being able to get his. Haha!

When I go to the cinema I generally try and book tickets online before I go, that way I’m guaranteed the seats to the movie I wish to see. When we go to an Odeon, I use their website, which works even though it’s a little clunky.
Normally however, we go to the show case cinema at Bluewater as they have loads of screens and show films very late, which works for us night time people. The only problem is that they use movietickets.com as their chosen form of accepting online payment for tickets.

Every encounter I have with that website is a bad one.

  • It constantly asks me to login even when I logged in on the page before
  • It rejects my card details even though they’re identical to that on my card!
  • They use the Natwest card validation procedure which requires me to type in an online banking password for my Natwest card. Even when I type that in to prove to Natwest it is me using my card, it still rejects my card
  • When I go back to try again (because my card has been rejected) the seats I originally selected are now taken because there’s someone “still trying to book them”. That person would be me but you rejected my card!

This happens every time I encounter that website. I emailed their support department twice, but heard nothing back. I’m loathed to use that website because of the bad experience I get every time. And don’t get me started about the service charge for “ticket handling”!

Oki C3300The time finally came to order a new set of ink cartridges for my OKI 3300. I posted a little while back about some issues I had with the OKI, but touch wood all has been running smoothly so far!

I decided to get my toner cartridges from a company called ezzytrade. They were pretty quick. Order on the day and you get them the next day. I also have an HP laser jet so when the time comes for that, I’ll consider buying from them again.

At the moment I only need to replace my black toner as it’s currently reading 0% left, whereas the other colours all have around 30-40% left. I’ll have to look into a high capacity black toner next time I think!

save-childrenThe great thing about the OKI cartridges is they all come with a returns bag which raises money for Save the Children.

Nial’s set up a very cool mac only software torrent search portal over at iTorrent.co.uk.
If you like things simple, this is definitely the site to use. It’s fast and helps the end user by combining identical torrents. It’s also mac specific so you won’t have to root through windows stuff.

lotsa emails this way!
