I’m on to my thirteenth upgrade code from O2 and still no closer to knowing if I have an iPhone3G. A little frustrating to say the least.

The system for sending out upgrade codes seems to work, even if it is a little temperamental. It’s a shame their IT bods didn’t think of the demand required to process everyone’s upgrade. Their upgrade website is up and down more times than a yo-yo at the moment!

Update
I managed to get mine. Adrian blames me for not being able to get his. Haha!

This week I’ve been trying to move my mobile phone contract from Orange, to Vodafone.
Whilst I have no issues with Orange as a whole, I get barely any reception and home and have been waiting ages for a decent phone to upgrade to. The problem with having no reception at home is that I’m self employed. I’m constantly missing calls because of this, which in turn affects my business. Not good.

Vodafone logoish

On Wednesday I placed and order for a Vodafone business contract with a Nokia E60 phone. It was going to be delivered on Thursday, wonderful.
So Thursday came along and sure enough, I got a delivery which contained a new phone and SIM card. However, the sales person had put the incorrect phone on my order, which meant I got the Nokia blackberry lookalike, more of a brick than a phone!

I spent the end of the week trying to do a phone swap for the phone that I wanted, but for some reason the Vodafone online store is a “seperate part of Vodafone” and as such I wasn’t able to get that phone over the telephone.
I’m not really sure how that works to be honest. Isn’t Vodafone the same company whether it’s online or offline!?

Rather irritatingly, I had to cancel the initial order I placed and now I have to start again, this time online.
I’ve now run into another problem, I can’t enter my authorisation code from Orange online! I don’t want to loose the number I currently have as that would be even worse than having reception problems.

Do these problems ever end!!

lotsa emails this way!
