Ivan Segedin’s subterfuge killed him when he was in a head-on car crash while wearing a fake seatbelt, a coroner says.
“Ultimately Mr Segedin’s actions in driving without a seatbelt have cost him his life in an accident that he may well have survived had he worn one,” coroner Carla na Nagara said yesterday.

Mr Segedin, 39, refused to wear a seatbelt and had been fined for not wearing one 32 times since February 2003.

New Zealand MemorialTomorrow, around about 2pm, members of the royal family, government and New Zealand will be opening a new memorial on Hyde Park Corner in London. This is the view that I will be having as I’m a standby follow spot in case the light levels aren’t sufficient for the TV broadcast.

We’ve spent the past three days setting up not a lot of lighting for this event which marks remembrance day tomorrow. I’ll write more when the event has past as it’s all a bit hush hush at the moment.

lotsa emails this way!
