The Guardian reports that hundreds of partygoers trashed a house after being invited on MySpace.

Up to 200 teenagers from across the country trashed a family house while the parents were away after their daughter advertised a party on MySpace, police said today.

That will teach anyone to advertise a party online! Apparently, several teenagers travelled all the way from London to join the party madness. That’s about 300 miles to travel with no where to stay. Strange people!

I’m not really a fan of social websites such as MySpace. The main reason I join them, is because friends ask me to join to keep in touch, which is useful when you live in different countries.

I’ve never really liked MySpace, mainly because it looks horrible and can be a little difficult and limiting to use.
How many times do they need to check I want to edit something in my profile? I clicked to edit it and made my changes, now just let me change it!
Then there’s the famous error messages that seem to appear at least once every time I visit, annoying to say the least.

I’ve been trying out FaceBook over the past couple of days and I’ve got to say I’m really impressed so far. I’ve not come into any errors just yet, it’s easy to use, I can upload millions of photos, I can tag things, edit my profile easily and the list goes on.
The one huge thing that makes me enjoy using it so far is that it’s pleasing to the eye. More often that not on MySpace, you’d be subjected to horrific profile “themes” and god-awful music, that automatically starts when you load the page. I’m all for user customisation, after all that’s what I started doing with SDJL a long long time ago, but as it stands at the moment, MySpace is clumpy and horrible.

I’m going to carry on using FaceBook for the time being. I seem to find something new about it each time I login.
