I got a last minute phone call today. I’ll be going to Oxford, Leeds festival and Reading festival with The Last Shadow Puppets. Paris might appear there somewhere too. Sweet!
Back in November I was working on Little Noise sessions at Union Chapel. One of the bands that turned up were We Are Scientists, a quirky American band who played a great set.

A lot of the bands had their record companies recording their sessions and this is the first band I’ve seen that have released their live session from Union Chapel. So if you have an iTunes account, you can download Live From Union Chapel, London.
I’m waiting to see if they release the stuff Robyn did. She did a great acoustic set which was so different to her studio recorded material.
UpdateI forgot to mention that my favourite track is After Hours. Excellent to hear live.
U2 are tonight’s special guests at Little Noise in Union Chapel. They’ll be playing first with Biffy Clyro headlining. Last years special guest was Chris Martin from Coldplay.
Update: It was only Bono and Edge. They only played a couple of tracks but seemed to please the crowd. A few articles NME, BBC News and Yahoo News.
Their lighting designer came and saw me just before the show started and asked that I keep things simple, which I have been for these series of gigs. It was quite nice to meet someone that high up in the industry who was pleasant and interesting to talk to.
The end of the month should prove to be pretty fun with regards to work.
I’m doing 9 days work on Little Noise Sessions, which is a series of music gigs for the charity Mencap.
Amongst the line up are: Babyshambles, Jack Penate, Athlete, Newton Faulkner, Biffy Clyro, The Kooks, Snow Patrol, Kate Nash, The Enemy and Keane. Here’s the full listing.
