Passengers could soon be using their mobile phones on planes flying through European airspace.

Plans have been developed across EU countries to introduce technology which permits mobile calls without risk of interference with aircraft systems.

I seriously hope most airline operators don’t go for this. It’s bad enough putting up with people talking loudly on phones in trains and buses, let alone thousands of miles above the earth. At least I have the option of getting off at the next stop or moving carriage if someone’s that annoying!
