It looks like the Ofcom debacle is finally coming to a close.

The future of live events, concerts, festivals and theatre shows could be secured thanks to a u-turn by Ofcom.

The regulator has said it will look again at proposals to auction off the spectrum which radio microphones that power such events rely on.

Or is it? L&SI Online:

Ron Bonner, technical resources manager for PLASA, speaking for BEIRG, has said that while this is an important step in the right direction, there is still a great deal of work for BEIRG to do to ensure that sufficient spectrum allowance is made for the PMSE sector. He went on to say, “whilst to the casual observer this may appear as an Ofcom U-turn as suggested by other headlines recently published, the devil is in the detail and Ofcom still hold the opinion that a market-led approach is still an option for this industry.

It will nice to eventually wrap this up, but as with all things politics, this could take a while.

Now this looks like a great idea. Instead of showing adverts before a movie in the cinema, hook up a motion sensor and let the entire audience play a giant game of NewsBreaker! I’d sure like to give that a try.

Following on the heels of The Bourne Identity and The Bourne Supremacy, there comes a third part The Bourne Ultimatum.

I wasn’t too impressed with The Bourne Supremacy, but we’ll see if the third creation can do any better in August when it’s released.

Blades of Glory
Now that looks like it could be an entertaining film!

300 The MovieA few of us went to see 300 last night and we were all treated to an excellent experience.
The movie spent a year in post production, which is probably due to the way every scene has “crushed” visual colours and most of the film was shot against blue/green screens.

The film was based on one of Frank Millers graphic novels, much like Sin City, although completely different plot lines and shooting styles.
300 tells of The Battle Thermoplyae where King Leonidas lead 300 of his best Spartan soldiers in a fight to the death against Xerxes and his massive Persian army.

There’s an incredible amount of violence in the film, but it’s somewhat subdued by the tasteful cinematography. It’s got a fantastic look to the film and is definitely worth watching if you’re not too spooked out with ancient tales.
Photocritic also have a rough guide on how to achieve the 300 look with any of your digital photos. Oh. The film makers preferred using Macs too… ;)

lotsa emails this way!
