Tonight should prove to be a good evening for star gazers. Between 2244 and 2358 the moon will be totally immersed in the earths shadow.
During “totality”, only light that has been filtered through the Earth’s atmosphere reaches the Moon’s surface, making it appear a reddish colour.
It’s a shame I have to work this evening as I would have liked to try and get some photos of the moon in its red state. For the full article, pop on over to the BBC.
