There’s a lot of hype over the iPhone at the moment. It’s release date in the US is in two days time on the 29th June. Apple have posted a new video detailing the iPhone keyboard.

I was initially a little unsure how well the keyboard would work, but this video gives a good demonstration of some of the techniques that the iPhone is employing to get accurate and fast typing.

Now this looks like a job where you can’t be scared of heights! Building the Comcast Centre in Philadelphia.

Comcast Centre

Set to be one of the tallest buildings in the US at almost 1,000ft with 57 floors and costing an estimated $540 million.

iStat Menu Bar
The folks at iSlayer have just released a new menu bar, similar to their brilliant iStat Pro widget for Mac OS X.
Their new product allows you to customise a menu bar to show statistics about your system including hard drive usage, CPU and memory utilisation, temperature, fan speeds and network usage.

iStat Menu Bar Preferences

Initially the CPU option shows every core as a separate box in the menu bar, but this can be compacted down to just one box. Useful if you have eight cores such as my Mac Pro. There’s quite a few different ways to show the data that the software collects and I’ve managed to get it reasonably compact.I
I’m going to trial it out for a while and see if I get used to it. I like my menu bar to be clean and tidy and I’m still weighing up whether this makes it look messy or not.

I wonder why the iPhone requires you to have an iTunes store account?

I updated the theme I use on my blog this evening and a few bits have changed, hence the tattered look at the moment. I’ll get it back and running shortly!

lotsa emails this way!
