For those of you that actually stop by the website every now and then, you’ll notice it has a new look! Nial has spent the last few days making this new design work that he created.

It brings a welcome change to the website as the old style was getting a little stale and needed some love. I’m pleased to say Nial has done a great job as usual. There’s bound to be a few teething problems somewhere, but if you just bear with us, everything should be ironed out in the next couple of days.

The Fentix Cube as described by it’s designer:

Featuring a unique ultra-bright (even in daylight) full-colour cubic screen and a unique cubic multitouch touchscreen technology (patent pending) this games platform has been programmed to implement various multi-dimensional games, puzzles, and lighting effects.

This looks like a great device. Mutli-sensory technology has always impressed me and is something I’m still intrigued by.
The BBC have a great write up of this new device that is getting a lot of interest.

…the colourful exterior masks a combination of innovative technologies that have propelled Apple’s iPhone and Nintendo’s Wii to huge success this year.

The cube contains a large battery, an array of LEDs and crucially three accelerometers which can detect the pitch and yaw of the device, and sensors on the inside surface for touch control.

Aperture KeyboardI’ve been looking around for an Aperture keyboard for a little while. I know most of the basic short cuts, but felt I wasn’t fully utilising Aperture in the most effective way.

Last week Adrian and I popped into the Apple store in Bluewater and I had a rather brief demo of some of the other short cuts that are available in Aperture. To cut a long story short, I’ve just purchased a key set from Logickeyboard, which I can butcher my current keyboard with and I’m thinking of attending the Aperture Workshop on Tuesday 24th at Apple Bluewater.

There’s plenty of sources today rumouring the iPhone release on O2.

SDJLs new theme

I had a little play around with creating my own look for K2 late last night. Whilst I’m not 100% satisfied with the look at the moment, I think it’s a darn sight better than the previous bog standard look I had going on.

The most notable changes are the resized header and overall font size. I didn’t mind the smaller fonts until last night when I played around with font sizes in Firebug. I think the slightly larger size makes content easier to read and overall presentation looks nicer.

Obviously, if you’re reading this through my RSS feed then you’re not going to be seeing the new looks. Come by and have a little look and see what you think!

lotsa emails this way!
