This looks like an interesting project to undertake.

“Infrared Light Against Surveillance Cameras” is an easy to build device that protects you from cameras in public spaces. The focus is to amplify the interaction between “machines” (or light sources) that have been built as surveillance devices.

Imagine how chuffed I was this morning when I looked in my inbox and found an email from Digital Photography School, saying that I’d won their camera review competition!

About a month ago I posted about writing a review for the Canon 5D. It’s that 1,415 word “essay” that won me five great books that I can’t wait to receive. Here’s what I went for out of the list of books.

Digital SLR Pro Secrets by David D. Busch
The Complete Guide to Night and Low-Light Photography by Lee Frost
Digital Macro Photography by Ross Hoddinott
The Photoshop Channels Book by Scott Kelby
Complete Digital Photography by Ben Longben

Canon EOS 1D Mark III

Oooooh! Canon have announced their new Canon EOS 1D Mark III camera.
It’s a direct replacement for the Canon EOS 1D Mark II N camera and it looks pretty good!

It’s a 10.1 megapixel camera with 10fps, allowing you to shoot 110 JPEGs or 30 RAWs in quick succession and is powered by dual DIGIC III processors.
I remember seeing the DIGIC III processors when I worked on the Canon IXUS ten year celebration. They were using one of these on their higher end IXUS cameras, so two in a pro digital SLR is funky!

There’s loads more features to oogle over, but if you want a full run down, head over to the Canon page detailing the camera.

Weather sealed magnesium alloy body
3.0″ LCD screen display
Integrated cleaning system
ISO expandable up to 6400!
19 Auto Focus points with 26 assist points

Warehouse Express have this camera up for sale at £3,049.

I’ve been pulling some rather long hours recently and i’ve paid the price by getting ill.
Admittedly, that was at the end of last week, but i’ve been so busy i’ve not actually gotten rid of the entirety of my cold (or whatever illness it is!)

The past three days has been an interesting one. I found out today that it’s a press release for the new Canon Ixus range of cameras.
Maybe i’ll see if i can blag a free camera for all the blood and sweat i’ve released recently!

lotsa emails this way!
