MarsEditWhen it comes to writing on this blog, I used to use the default WordPress web interface, which was great. I then stumbled upon MarsEdit, which is now called MarsEdit 2.

I’ve been using it religiously for just under a month now and I’m finding more and more to like about it.
Up until today I didn’t know how I could edit a posts date so that I could write posts which would then appear a day or two later. This meant I would be going back and forth between MarsEdit and the cumbersome WordPress write screen.

edit-date.pngA simple but odd shortcut, Apple + cmd + L, pops up the edit timestamp option you see to the right. I now have no reason to use the WordPress write screen unless I’m away from home.

I also found out another useful option “Save Default Window Size“, which enables you to drag out the required size of the write post screen and get the application to remember that information.

For those who haven’t seen, I post most of my photography posts over at David Lancini Photography.
I decided to have a separate ground for my photography work, even if it is just a hobby!

SunsetI’ve decided that most of my photographic content will no longer be featured on this blog. I’ve setup a new blog, which from now on will feature as a showcase for the stupid and not so stupid photos that I take!

Whilst this may seem like I’m completely limiting the content which I can feature here, I’ll still post the odd photo here and there.
I’ll try my best to generate some interesting content here and keep away from the photography related postings.

Over the next four days, pictures will appear as posts on my new blog from my wandering around the woods yesterday. I got some reasonably good shots, but I’ll let you judge them yourselves when they appear.
