Back in November I was working on Little Noise sessions at Union Chapel. One of the bands that turned up were We Are Scientists, a quirky American band who played a great set.

A lot of the bands had their record companies recording their sessions and this is the first band I’ve seen that have released their live session from Union Chapel. So if you have an iTunes account, you can download Live From Union Chapel, London.

I’m waiting to see if they release the stuff Robyn did. She did a great acoustic set which was so different to her studio recorded material.

UpdateI forgot to mention that my favourite track is After Hours. Excellent to hear live.

I just bought my first iTunes Plus download in the form of Chemical Brothers - We Are The Night.

Chemical Brothers

The iTunes Plus version of the music cost nothing more than buying without the plus symbol next to the tracks, so I thought I’d take advantage.
Asides from a slightly higher bit rate of 256kbps there’s not too much different about the Plus files. Supposedly the music should sound better, but I suspect you’d need some perfect ears and top quality equipment to fully notice the difference.

I’ll be going to see the chemical twins in December with Ant at Brixton Academy. Should be a good show hopefully.

The new Kings of Leon album, Because Of The Times, sounds pretty bloody marvelous if you ask me. Hint: Click above to go to their MySpace site and listen to the whole thing before its released on the 3rd April!

mmm. What do I make of them? I’m not really too sure what to think about Enter Shikari. I quite liked their latest single, but listening to their album samples on iTunes it just sounds all shouty and each track sounds rather similar.
I’ll see if any of the samples grow on me or borrow someone’s CD to have a proper listen to before purchasing my own copy.

Bent have just released a new album, Intercept. Another instalment of electro-pop, funkiness.

Bent - Intercept

It can be bought on iTunes and in all good record stores. Some of the tracks from the album can be heard at their myspace site.

lotsa emails this way!
