Since the 2.1 update for the iPhone, mines been doing some strange things.

  • The most annoying thing is the 3G reception/drop out problem. You start a phone call, it rings, the person picks up, you say your first words, then the call drops out and you have to call them back once the iPhone has finished spazzing out over the reception.
  • I have an odd battery problem. Occasionally the battery meter doesn’t update itself. So after two days use it still says I have a full battery. That’s a blatant lie!

The iPhone still needs a lot of improvement, but it’s fairly functional despite its issues.

How can you call a product unmetered when you cap it to a certain limit each month? I’m not the only one seeing the strangeness in this title.

Orange has launched its unmetered-mobile-data tariff for the UK - but unexpectedly capped it at 30MB a month.

Surely this breaks trading laws by describing a product as one thing and then changing it? Link

I’m getting increasingly frustrated that I can’t get a mobile data card to use with my laptop for wireless internet, purely because it’s an apple mac.

I got an apple because it’s reliable and far more pleasurable to use than anything windows based. Having to pay a hotel eight pounds for an hours internet usage takes any pleasure away quite quickly. I’m hoping that very soon networks other than Vodafone twig there are Mac users wanting to use their data cards.

Edit
Saying that, there is also the option of buying this GlobeTrotter card and inserting the SIM card I get from the provider I choose to go with… If their card wasn’t priced at €299!!

lotsa emails this way!
