I reckon holding everyone up must be a French pastime.
Yesterday, 15 trawlers flying skull and crossbone flags blockaded Calais, trapping three British ferries inside the port and three outside.
The fishermen linked their boats with steel wires, claiming they had an underwater cable in place which would destroy the keels of any craft trying to escape.
I’d say about 80% of Britain dislike the French by now.
I liked this post, as I’ve been living in France now for the past month, and can relate to its sentiment :D
Although, being able to swim in the Mediterranean in October is certainly an advantage the French have over us :)
The French always get picked on. Some say it’s just because they are easy targets. “They aren’t likely to retaliate.”
Anyway, one of my closest friends is French and i’ve been to France and I met quite a few cool people there, so I sort of feel like I have a slight connection with the country… and I always have this sort of secret amusement going on whenever I hear anti - French sentiment.
It’s a very British thing for us to dislike the French. It’s probably because they’re our “neighbour” and they cause us issues.
