What would his suffering solved, proved or gained? To make forthright and ignorant westerners such as yourself feel better?

Its not as though his death was ‘clinical’ in any sense anyway. It was a crude affair that has drawn world wide condemnation, and quite rightly so. Even the Shia dominated Iraqi government has caled for an inquiry.

But hey, George Bush enjoyed it.

Why couldn’t he have been kept alive?
Sure, he ordered killings of a lot of people, but that doesn’t mean we take eye for an eye, it brings us down to his level and it gave him an easy way out.

Kidnappings and killings are going to happen regardless of whether Saddam is alive or not. Its plain to see in the news as the quote from the Independent shows.

â€œSaddam will be a hero in our eyes,â€ said Um Abdullah, a Sunni teacher and teacher in the town, who pledged to wear black to mourn him. â€ I have five kids and I will teach them to take revenge on Americans.â€

And if he wasn’t killed and sat in prison there would be killings and kidnappings with islamists demanding his release, we see it now. So if we can’t keep him alive and we can’t kill him, what do you do? But whatever, I just wish he would have suffered more.

It will ony serve to exacerbate the sectarian violence in Iraq.
